“D Day” is a fun-packed day of learning for our Nursery pupils. This particular day is a special day dedicated to a carousel of learning experiences that encourage our children to explore their diverse gifts and skills and be inspired in a variety of ways!

On this day, pupils have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with some of the older Lower 6th Form students at GIS. Not only do these older students teach our pupils by engaging them in reading, drawing, singing and dancing activities; but they also go the extra mile to exhibit their talents (playing an instrument, singing, and dancing). By doing this they create a platform that makes it easy for them to talk to and encourage pupils about the benefits of learning a new skill and how it requires creativity, determination and discipline.

This creates a conducive learning environment that urges our pupils to think more deeply about their interests and creative input in their learning. Some of their experiences included dance, den building, design, drawing and drama. The children were treated to a live performance on the saxophone as they danced to one of their favourite songs, Baby Shark! This is in line with our 2022-2025 Strategic and Operational Priority 2.12 which is to develop alternative pathways to learning that leverage students’ abilities, talents, skills and knowledge. #GIS#GhaIntSch#EffectiveStrategies#alphabet#fun#funlearning
