Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, Maame Ama Annor, Aseda Asante, and Saania Murpuri, all Form 5 students of GIS, formed the AMS Outreach Organization dedicated to building brighter futures for the underprivileged children of Ghana. Motivated by their Motto ‘Touching Lives, One Kit at a Time’, their sole mission is to help children who face obstacles in their educational journeys to overcome them. They achieve this by providing literacy and hygiene kits while empowering these children to continue learning. Their ultimate intention is to help build a brighter future for a new generation of highly motivated individuals who are able to escape the poverty trap.

AMS Outreach recently organized a book drive where people donated reading books, workbooks, and stationery. As a result of the numerous donations received, combined with their own investments, they were able to provide 200 literacy and art kits containing pencils, erasers, sharpeners, color pencils, crayons, coloring sheets, and notebooks, as well as over 250 books to children of the Teshie Orphanage and Dzorwulu Special School.

They also used the opportunity to educate children about the importance of adhering to all safety protocols during these times of  Covid-19. AMS Outreach hopes that more people would join their initiative to help children whose education has been affected by the virus.

Well done to Team AMS  for this wonderful initiative!
