At the heart of an excellent education is the student voice. We recently held our Infant School Student Council meeting, focusing on the critical area of procurement and resource selection.
Moving far beyond simple “wish lists,” our student representatives engaged in a sophisticated, analytical process to evaluate age-appropriate resources for our school. By analysing needs, comparing options, and establishing clear criteria for their decisions, these young leaders learned to think beyond immediate gratification. They worked as a unified team, listening to multiple perspectives to propose what is best for our community both now and in the future.
It was truly inspiring to see how precise and forward-thinking our students can be. By involving them in real-world decision-making, we aren’t just buying resources; we are fostering the next generation of critical thinkers and civic leaders.
