GIS Leadership Day is an annual event specifically designed for Form 2 Students to equip them with the necessary skills required to take up leadership roles in Form 3. The event brings together experts to meet enthusiastic students and staff in a fun interactive learning setting.
This year’s event themed My World: My Responsibility provided students an opportunity to explore their leadership styles and strategies and build meaningful life-long connections with their peers, while fostering an understanding of different cultures.
Our Guest Speaker, Ms. Jessica Opare Saforo (Head of Programmes- CitiTV and CitiFM) shared her experiences in the media – a very dynamic space these days. She inspired our young soon-to-be leaders to always be themselves and take up the right attitude as students to become exemplary leaders. She highlighted essential qualities of a good leader and talked about the use of various social media platforms positively, encouraging them to work towards becoming great role models in society.
A special thank you to our sponsor Data Bank and Mrs. Gillian Hammah ( Chief Marketing Officer for Databank) for sharing her rich financial expertise with students and equipping them with smart ways of becoming financially independent.
And finally we would like to express our profound appreciation to Ms. Ida Abbeyquaye (Vice Principal for Lower Secondary), Staff, Teachers and everyone who helped in diverse ways to make this experience memorable.
To our students who have been equipped with 21st Century leadership skills, effective communication and ethical decision making abilities we hope that you will influence each other and others positively as you aspire for greatness.
