This year’s 2018 Junior School inter-house athletics competition saw Blue House win the overall trophy, a three in a row winning streak .It was a fun filled sports day which had Staff, Parents and Students come together to display terrific sportsmanship.
The day’s event was organized by the GIS Physical Education (PE) & Sports Department at the El-Wak Sports Stadium and was heavily supported by Junior School Parents. They brought their team spirit to the field and provided refreshments for everyone .
The Track and Field competition saw pupils from year 3 to year 6 compete in 100 and 200m flat race, high jump, relay race, hurdles,slalom skittle,walking race, shot put and the potato picking race.
At the end of an exciting and thrilling competition, Blue house was adjudged winner of the 2018 Junior School Track and Field competition.
The event climaxed with a thrilling flat race competition between parents and teachers.
At GIS, one of our strategic goals is to is to engage parents in ways that help them support us in the teaching of our students.
We say a big thank you to our Junior School parents, the Vice-Principal of the Junior School Ms. Bruce-Muller, our wonderful teachers who jumped in as time keepers, track and field judges, our awesome nurses, our security team and to everyone who made the day a success. To Blue House we say congratulations and better luck next time to the Red, Yellow and Green houses who did incredibly well.
