Introduced in November 2022, the Infant School Student Council (ISSC) is an impactful initiative championed by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Donna Gordon-Apeagyei, to promote student leadership and amplify student voice. Since its inception, the ISSC has proven highly effective, with members making valuable contributions to school events and activities.
The process to elect the fourth batch of ISSC Representatives began, as usual, with an engaging sketch by the Middle Managers illustrating the entire election journey – from the introduction and parent communication to applications, manifesto presentations, voting, counting, and the final announcement of elected representatives. The sketch was presented as a relatable school scenario, making the process easy for even our youngest learners to understand.
It is always exciting to see our young ones confidently presenting their manifestos to their peers. This year, the election reached a new milestone with a fully online voting system. Thanks to our Computing Junior Teacher, Mr. Sudais Zakaria, who initiated and developed the online ballots for all four year groups, students were able to vote seamlessly using iPads and Chromebooks. The process was smooth, transparent, efficient, and instantaneous – results were available immediately after voting closed.
Congratulations to all our children who bravely signed up to be voted for. Their efforts in writing and sharing their manifestos demonstrated impressive communication, confidence, and leadership skills – qualities we are proud to nurture in the Infant School.
We wish the newly elected ISSC Representatives every success in their tenure.
