The GIS community brought the 5th Edition of the TIME Educator’s Conference back with a bang. The event highlighted the theme “Producing citizens who learn, work & innovate; A teacher’s role.”

The teachers from the Infant, Junior, and Secondary sections of the school took time out of their Saturday and came together as one to be enlightened by the inspiring panellists, Mrs Ruby Buah (Fashion Designer, KUA Designs), Mr. Rama Zomaletho (Tech Start-up Founder, YAZI Academy), and Mrs. Klortsoo Okai-Gawuga (Architect, Nest Realty). They were hosted in an interactive interview session by the Principal, Dr. Mary Ashun.

The teachers then moved into smaller groups to participate in numerous engaging workshops and seminars they signed up for. These workshops had teachers double up as presenters, as their colleagues keenly learnt from them.

During the feedback session, many educators expressed how refreshing it was to interact with their fellow teachers from other sections of the school. They got to appreciate the importance of being multi-faceted and honing in on each other’s talents.

As student volunteers, we had the honour of witnessing our teachers as students for a day. Not only were we moved by the effort our teachers put in to be better for us, but it made us appreciate them even more.

Thanks to the entire team, including Mrs. Beatrice Owusu Boateng, Mr. Stanley Ayerson, and the entire group who organized everything amidst COVID, the TIME Conference was a massive success. Although it was just the GIS community this year, the organizers hope to invite educators from all over Ghana once again in the coming years. Their objective is to make a difference not only within the school but also on a national level as they strongly believe that better teachers produce better future leaders.
