As part of our mission to provide an internationally diverse school experience that instills an understanding of each other, promotes holistic development, life skills and learning, the Health and Wellness Department of GIS has put together an exciting healthy initiative dubbed “Sugar Free Week”.

This initiative which starts on Monday 16th through to Friday 20th April 2018 is to encourage all Staff and Students to eliminate sugar from their diet.

Research continues to show that the main cause of Chronic Diseases, including Heart Disease, Cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, Dementia, Cold and Infertility can be traced to sugars. Sadly, more than 70% of us tend to eat over 3 times the recommended daily amount of sugar!

Our Health and Wellness Department is doing a marvelous job by sharing helpful tips and information on how to cut down sugar intake from one’s diet and the health benefits associated with complete sugar withdrawal.

We would like to say a very big thank you to our nurses for encouraging us to stay healthy. #GhaIntSchGoesSugarFree  #HealthyLiving
