Our soon to be Class of 2020 Graduate, Rohan Karmchandani continued his exploits in the Sport of Chess when he emerged winner of the U-18 category of the Mentors Chess Academy competition for the year 2020. Due to the COVID – 19 pandemic this year’s competition was played online observing the social distancing safety protocols.
The competition saw many players battling it out for the ultimate. Participants included a lot of young chess players from various international schools including Al- Rayan International School, Ridge Church School, DPS International and American International School. The players battled it out for the utmost prize in the comfort of their homes.
At the end of the competition, it was Rohan from Ghana International School who won the gold medal in the Under-18 category. He finished first ahead of Rushikesh Eaga and Joshan Shunjaiy both of DPS International Ghana placing second and third respectively. Congratulations Rohan! We are proud of you!
