GIS marked its Ghana Day celebration to commemorate Ghana’s 61st birthday. The week-long festival was observed by various sections of the School (Infant, Junior, Lower and Upper Secondary).

The occasion had students dressed in various Ghanaian traditional outfits, attend in-house organized workshops on weaving, pottery and bead making just to mention a few. They recited poems in local languages, listened to folk tales and danced to traditional songs, making it a colourful and joyous event. To ensure understanding of and respect for diversity, GIS provides students with opportunities to share their cultures. We believe festive occasions like these help both our local and international students develop international mindedness as well as inculcate a spirit of understanding of each other.

The occasion brings the community together from different backgrounds to celebrate diversity through various presentations. It also promotes knowledge and understanding of Ghana. On behalf of the entire GIS Community, we wish Mother Ghana a Happy 61st Birthday!
