GIS holds Monthly Community Event and UN POP-UP Festival

Ghana International School organizes monthly community events to support Dads and Mums (with children from Ages 3-18) with relevant and timely parenting strategies. Today’s Topic: Protect your Child from Sexual Abuse, was targeted at Parents and  Staff of G.I.S. It ran concurrently with the UN POP-UP Festival, a day set aside to promote and celebrate children’s rights as well as their emotions and well being. The UN Pop Up Festival targets children between the ages of 7-18 as well as parents. G.I.S. collaborated with   Imago-Connect Limited ( I.C.L), a UN selected partner for the event.

As a school we are excited to have been part of  the UN’s initiative to bring emotional intelligence awareness and resources to children and adults while creating a friendly environment for children through dialogue and actions”. G.I.S continues to meet its strategic goals which include making an impact in our community though service.

She explains why it is better for one to say “I disagree” rather than “No”, clarifying that this response provides a platform for further engagement and dialogue.
Team members from Imago-Connect Limited, put children in various groups and asked them to disagree on a subject and explain their reasons (Fostering healthy relationships through interactions)
